Below you will find answers to some of the most commonly asked questions we receive from potential clients.
1. What should I expect at my free consultation
We offer a no obligation consultation to you at no cost. It is vital to get to know you and learn the details of your case. During the consultation, you will have a face to face meeting with one of our experienced personal injury trial attorneys. During this meeting we will discuss your concerns and answer your questions, and help explain your legal options. We will also discuss with you the medical treatment options if needed, and how we are going to investigate and develop your case. Most importantly, we will take the time to listen and answer any question you have.
2. I am hurt in an accident, what should I do?
Do not admit fault. Make sure you are in safe place, and call the police immediately. Take pictures of the scene and of any injuries you have if you are able. Exchange information with all the involved parties in the accident, including witnesses, and give a statement to the police. Most importantly, see a doctor, even if you think you are not injured or your injuries are minor. Sometimes, your pain might be masked by the shock of the accident, and later develop to be more severe.
3. How much is my personal injury case worth
Here are some key factors to determine how much your personal injury case is worth: Liability, damages and insurance coverage. Each case is unique and there is no magic formula to figure out how much your case is worth without consulting with an experienced personal injury attorney.
4. How long does my injury case lawsuit take to get a settlement?
The duration of cases can vary significantly. Some cases takes at least a year from the date of filing, and some may take just a few months. We understand your frustrations, but the more complicated your case is, the longer it takes to settle unless you are prepared to take pennies on the dollar and receive a lot less than you deserve. If you simply cannot wait and are thinking of settling your case early, you should still consult with a personal injury attorney and receive a fair and honest assessment or your situation.
I have nothing but good things to say about McCarthy & Edwards. It’s rare to find an attorney personally discussing all options with me for a case I’m going through. Jeff (McCarthy) is very personable and took the time to answer all of my question. Of course, I have talked to other staff members working on my case but they have been on top of it the entire process. It’s unfortunate that there are more people who post negative reviews than great ones.
McCarthy and edwards are great they helped get me situated when i had an accident with no hastle and without me having to go to their office at all. I strongly recommend them as they are a great firm...
Bottom line... they are in the business of being a lawyer... They are not baby sitters and I will not hold them to unrealistic standards. They are amazing. They performed amazing. They did not politically correct anything. They full filled all their duties admirably, I now have a beautiful check that helped me get back on the road and pay off bills. I am giving them a 5-star easily, I am sorry to the ones that gave a one star, I just don't see it. I will have no fear in calling them again and have set them as number 7 on speed dial.
